If you are up for more challenging terrain after trying out the trails on the southern slope of Val D’Irene, you can’t pass up the “versant-nord”.
The “versant-nord” is located on the other side of the mountain and with its steep terrain is what makes people come back to Val D’Irene since this sector was developed years ago. The “versant-nord” is comprised of 8 unique trails, 7 of them being double diamonds and the eight one being green. The more experienced skiers and snowboarders agree that these trails are the most beautiful at Val D’irene. A punch card is needed to use th shuttle to come back on the main side of the mountain.
“Versant-Nord” trails are accessed from various areas of the south side of the mountain. If you wish to test your skills in this sector, keep in mind you will have to purchase an additional pass at the ticket office to be able to use the shuttle that brings you back to the chairlift.
The regular lift ticket does not include the backside shuttle. You have the choice to purchase a multi-punch pass or pay $ 4.00 per person for a ride back to the front of the mountain. The multi-punch pass has a much lower “per/ride” cost.
